Are you trying to cope with Tiredness, Pain, Depression?

Take more control of your life

A practical course for people with long-term conditions

What is Your Life Your Choice?

A practical course for anyone with a long term condition

Partnerships for Wellbeing is offering a FREE six week course for anyone over 18 living with any long-term condition, including:

  • Heart disease

  • Lung disease

  • ME

  • Back problems

  • Asthma

  • Arthritis

  • Epilepsy

  • Multiple sclerosis

Learn skills and techniques to help you take control of your life and manage your condition better on a day-to-day basis. It is informal, friendly and FREE.

A long-term condition is one of prolonged duration, generally longer than a year that affects any aspect of the person's life.  Symptoms may come and go.  Usually there is no cure but there are often things that can be done to maintain and improve quality of life.

How will the course help me?

The course is led by people like you who are living with long-term conditions.

You can gain knowledge, skills and confidence to help you manage your condition better on a day-to-day basis and reduce its impact on your daily life.

You can meet other people living with the same condition and share your experiences in a supportive group of about 16 people.

You can learn to communicate better with the health and care professionals involved with you to create ‘working partnerships’

Here are some comments from participants on our first course that ran in 2007...

"Something to look forward to every week"

"I'm really enjoying this and I feel it is doing me good"

"This course has helped me in every aspect of my daily living"

"The course has been very helpful, it has shown ways to cope and communicate"

"This course has helped me in every aspect of my life, I have learned many new coping skills...it has has lifted my spirits"

If you want to stay involved, you can become a volunteer course tutor. Training is free and you can share the skills you have developed to help others.
